Mr. Compton (Principal)
Greetings Margaret Heath Community,
I am excited to welcome everyone to the 2023-2024 school year. My name is Stephen Compton, and I am delighted to serve as the interim principal for Margaret Heath Elementary School. Our school community has many talented members who are committed to doing what is in the best interest of your child. Moving forward, we will continue to provide the same high-quality education for which our school is known.
My professional background is rooted in education. I have spent the last twenty-one years working in public schools as a teacher, program coordinator, and administrator. This is my seventh year with the Baldwin Park Unified School District, and I look forward to applying my career knowledge to serve the Margaret Heath community.
In addition to my professional role, I am a husband and a father. My wife, Margaret Compton, is also an educator. Margaret and I are the proud parents to two children, Maya (fifth grade), and Sean (fourth grade). As a parent, I always want what is best for my children, and I will work tirelessly to ensure that your children have the best education possible.
This summer, I have been working closely with Dr. Maria Alonso, your former principal, and Dr. Russhell Martinez, director of student achievement, to ensure a smooth transition. I have learned a great deal about our school community and the unique needs of our students and staff. I am committed to carrying the traditions and practices that are already in place, while working to refine and improve upon past practices.
As your principal, I will work to realize the district’s mission to “Ensure high achievement for all learners.” It is my belief that all children should receive an exemplary education in an environment that is safe and conducive to learning. Together we can help our students thrive.

Estoy emocionado de darles la bienvenida a todos al año escolar 2023-2024. Mi nombre es Stephen Compton, y estoy encantado de servir como el director interino de la Escuela Primaria Margaret Heath. Nuestra comunidad escolar tiene muchos miembros talentosos que son cometidos a hacer lo que es en el mejor interés de su niño. Siguiendo adelante, continuaremos proporcionando la misma educación de alta calidad por la cual nuestra escuela es conocida.
Mi experiencia profesional se basa en la educación. He pasado los últimos veintiún años trabajando en escuelas públicas como maestro, coordinador de programas y administrador. Este es mi séptimo año con el Distrito Escolar Unificado de Baldwin Park, y espero con interés la aplicación de mis conocimientos de carrera para servir a la comunidad Margaret Heath.
Además de mi rol profesional, soy esposo y padre. Mi esposa, Margaret Compton, también es educadora. Margaret y yo somos los orgullosos padres de dos niños, Maya (quinto grado), y Sean (cuarto grado). Como padre, siempre quiero lo mejor para mis hijos, y trabajaré incansablemente para asegurar que sus hijos tengan la mejor educación posible.
Este verano, he estado trabajando estrechamente con la Dra. María Alonso, su antigua directora, y la Dra. Russhell Martínez, directora de rendimiento estudiantil, para asegurar una transición sin problemas. He aprendido mucho sobre nuestra comunidad escolar y las distintivas necesidades de nuestros estudiantes y personal. Estoy comprometido a mantener las tradiciones y prácticas que ya están en su lugar, mientras se trabaja para perfeccionar y mejorar las prácticas anteriores.
Como su director, trabajaré para realizar la misión del distrito de "Asegurar altos logros para todos los estudiantes". Creo que todos los niños deben recibir una educación ejemplar en un entorno seguro y propicio para el aprendizaje. Juntos podemos ayudar a nuestros estudiantes a prosperar.
